Build 301 or 302 redirects for Apache, Nginx, or the popular Redirection plugin CSV — keep link equity when URLs change.
Prefer the Redirection plugin for large WordPress sites — safer than editing .htaccess by hand. Always backup first.
Use 301 when a URL has moved permanently (slug change, HTTPS migration). Use 302 for temporary campaigns. Place Apache rules above the WordPress rewrite block, or import CSV into the Redirection plugin.
